Sometimes I wonder, was that it ? Was it just a few short years where it seemed like we could change the world, and then the world forgot?

Rose, The Hippie, is a Campfire Companion for the Traveler.

Rose frequently asks for scary stories, hopeful stories, and thrilling stories and is first encounterable outside of Portalnd, OR. Her story is written by Johnnemann Nordhagen, and she is voiced by Sarah Elmaleh.

Background[ | ]

Rose is a hippie from the Vietnam War Era. Her brother James was drafted into the war and was Killed in Action. After her brother's death, she left her home to travel to San Francisco, hoping to join the festivities of the Summer of Love. However, Rose was too late. By the time she got to San Francisco, the Summer of Love was over.

Even though she had missed the Summer of Love, Rose was able to find other hippies who had stayed behind and those like her who had arrived too late. She ended up falling in love with a man who had connections to the band the Grateful Dead. They travelled with the band for a few years as groupies.

Eventually, Rose became pregnant with a baby girl and decided to settle down, joining a commune.

Interactions with the Player[ | ]

Rose can originally be found outside of Portland, OR, and travels around in the Northwest. She mainly asks for thrilling, hopeful, and scary stories from the Traveler. Upon reaching Chapter 3 with her, she gives you a pendant of a skull with a distorted forehead that teleports you back to Portland.

True Form[ | ]

Her true form is six skeletons growing out of the ground by the spine, and the middle one has a rose instead of a skull.
