Maybe 'Merica was never meant to be held in yer hand like this.

Quinn, The Hobo Kid, is a Campfire Companion for the Traveler. They are a young kid riding the rails to see all 48 states.

Quinn frequently asks for thrilling, scary, or funny stories and is first encounterable outside of Boston, MA or when trainhopping for the first time, depending on what the player does first. Their story is written by Claris Cyarron & Silverstring Media, and they are voiced by Melissa Hutchinson.

Background[ | ]

Quinn grew up on a farm in Louisiana and had one younger brother and a baby sister. After the Depression hit, their parents began stealing money or things they could sell from Quinn and their brother. Eventually, Quinn's brother contracted appendicitis. Quinn's parents couldn't afford to pay for a doctor so they allowed him to die a slow and painful death. At some point after this, they kicked Quinn out of their home on the basis that their parents couldn't afford to take care of them anymore and they were old enough to fend for themself. Quinn took the family dog Cass with them, and then picked up a street dog named Flip to travel the country with.

Interactions with the Player[ | ]

Quinn can originally be found outside of Boston, MA, and travels around in the Northeast. They mainly ask for funny, thrilling, and scary stories from the Traveler. Upon reaching Chapter 3 with them, they give you a threadbare bandana that teleports you back to Boston.

True Form[ | ]

Quinn's True Form is a horrifying hobo coat held closed by many hands as two snarling dogs poke out of the bottom. The face is completely obscured except for two eyes and a set of sharp fangs.

Trivia[ | ]

  • Quinn has been confirmed to be nonbinary, both by creative director Johnnemann Nordhagen[1] and concept artist Kellan Jett[2].
